Well done to all the P6 pupils of St Ronans Primary School in Innerleithen who organised and held a Farmers Market at the school on Friday 28th September. The children of Primary 6 worked really hard to ensure the project was pupil driven, and thus facilitated a much richer learning experience from the project.  The opportunity to collaborate with real businesses in the Scottish Borders enabled them to apply knowledge and skills learned in school in a ‘real world’ context.

We were delighted to be asked to take a stall along with other traders including, Traquair House, Kailzie Gardens, Borders Forest Trust, John Adam Bakery, Caldwell Ice Creams……….. and many more local traders.

The date coincided with MacMillan Cancer Care’s Coffee Morning thus proceeds from the sales of tea/coffee’s to parents, traders and attendees were donated to MacMillan Cancer Care.

Thanks to the generosity of parents and staff alike we managed to raise a whopping total of £257 and in the process sold out everything on our stall. We were delighted to be able to hand all proceeds over to the school to pass onto MacMillan Cancer in support of their campaign.
